HB 2041 Facility Notice
- This facility is a freestanding emergency medical care center.
- It charges rates comparable to a hospital emergency room and may include a facility fee.
- Either the facility or the physician providing care may be out-of-network with the patient’s health insurance provider network.
- Physicians may bill separately from the facility for the medical services they provide.
Texas House Bill 3276
- We are out-of-network for all health benefit plans at all locations. We are no longer in network with Medicare, Medicaid, or Tricare.
- At this time, we are not recognized by Medicaid. To help us gain acceptance for these insurance plans, please consider reaching out to your legislators.
Alternative Payment for Care
For individuals without insurance or those covered by CHIPS, Medicare, or Medicaid, we accept cash and all major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
In-Network vs. Out-of-Network
Under Texas law, all insurance providers must offer in-network benefits for emergency medical care, regardless of whether the ER is in or out of network. You are entitled to use the “prudent layperson” standard when deciding if your condition requires emergency treatment.
If your insurance provider denies payment for an emergency room visit, you can file a grievance with the Texas Department of Insurance at www.tdi.state.tx.us.
Sugar Land ER’s billing policy is to always honor in-network rates for emergency care, helping you avoid unexpected costs that your insurance may refuse to cover.
